UUSA Concludes Annual United Way Campaign

19 November 2021

Every year, UUSA hosts an annual fundraiser to raise donations for the local United Way. The donations that our employees give through our annual United Way Campaign enable the non-profit organizations in our neighborhoods to keep their doors open and their services available to all those in need. Each Fair Share donation is matched by UUSA, increasing the impact of our contributions to the local community.

UUSA’s President and CEO, Karen Fili, takes a very personal interest in the annual campaign. “I have been giving to the United Way since 1993,” she shared. “At my last role before coming to UUSA, I served on the United Way Board of Directors in Augusta, Georgia. I was able to witness first-hand the checks and balances they have in place which only further embedded the trust I have in the United Way and what they do. In every place I have lived in the last 28 years, I have always been able to count on this organization to use every contribution in responsible ways to help our community.”

This year, UUSA employees came together during the month of October to do their Fair Share and raise $259,503.44 for the United Way organizations of Lea County and Andrews County.

“Our organization has been the largest donor to the United Way of Lea County for the past 14 years,” shared Lisa Hardison, Manager of Communications and Public Relations at UUSA. “As of right now, I am proud to say that we have continued the tradition of giving this year to make it 15 years as their largest giver.”
