Summary of Responsibilities

Responsible for the performance of the Major Projects Organization for project phases ranging in total value from a few million dollars to over $2 billion. Coordinates the site Major Projects program for all aspects of procurement, design, manufacturing, construction, integration, and cost controlling of facilities, systems, and equipment necessary to operate and expand the capacity and function of the URENCO USA (UUSA) enrichment facility.

Education and Experience Minimum Qualifications: Education
  • Bachelor's degree

Experience
  • Minimum 10 Years of direct work experience in major project management in a highly regulated industry. Minimum 5 years in senior management positions

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in related fields: e.g., MBA, Project Management Certification

  • 15 Years of related work experience. 10 Years in senior management positions

  • The work location for this position is Urenco USA, Eunice, NM.

  • Work Schedule: Professional work schedule with minimal night/weekend support. Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed.

  • Travel Required: 10% of the time or less as required.

  • Security Clearance Requirement: Controlled Access Area (CAA) Access and an L or Q level security clearance is required.

  • Emergency Response Requirements: Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duty may be required; including being on-call (24/7) during your designated team duty week.

Primary Functions
  • Providing leadership and executive management for all site major projects to ensure safe delivery of projects within approved budget and project performance (cost and schedule).

  • Coordination of site scope of projects and accomplishment within the broader group projects portfolio.

  • Ensuring Major Projects organization activities are performed in accordance with applicable license, federal, state, local, corporate, financial and quality assurance requirements; ensuring projects are performed within Board of Directors approved funding limits and schedule milestones; and managing all contracts and work procured from U.S. and European vendors in support of Major Projects.

  • Managing and coordinating accomplishment of major site projects with budgets exceeding a few million up to more than $2 billion within the broader strategic project portfolio.

  • Developing full scale project plans and associated communication plans and organizational infrastructure through which to monitor, check and adjust project performance (at a site and group level).

  • Liaising with the Group Projects group to ensure resource allocation are well coordinated for success of projects at the site and group level.

  • Implementing project schedule by mentoring and coordinating large project teams across multiple organizations, managers, and shifts. Maintain effective short and long range schedule compliance.

  • Managing, tracking, and presenting to executive URENCO USA management, the Board of Directors, and Group Projects management team all project indicators for schedule status, cost performance, regulatory compliance, quality, contractor and vendor oversight, and other items requiring management attention and intervention.

  • Leveraging experience from a number of industry sectors and continuously scan the market for best practice, analyzing developments and assessing how they can be exploited by Urenco to facilitate further value creation/delivery/capture/protection.

  • The role will ensure knowledge is retained and transferred inter-Urenco and will undertake lessons learned reviews to promote continuous improvement in all project management practices.

  • Ensure Urenco’s commercial position is robustly protected through the application of industry best practice in contracting strategies, contractor and supplier selection, procurement, contract negotiation and contract management.
