Summary of Responsibilities

This position is responsible for regulatory correspondence and representation of the site to regulatory bodies. This position interfaces with employees and managers at all levels of the organization and externally with vendors and governmental agencies. This position adheres to the foundational behaviors, company values and Urenco behaviors.

Education and Experience

Minimum Qualifications: Education
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, scientific field, business, or regulatory affairs

Experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the nuclear power industry

  • 2+ years of management experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in business, regulatory affairs, engineering or scientific field

  • More than 7 years of responsible nuclear experience, 7-10 years of direct work experience

  • 4 or more years of management experience

  • Experience at a Part 70 licensee performing licensing functions

  • Change Authority experience (e.g., 70.72, 50.59, 95.19)

Job Details

  • The work location for this position is Urenco USA, Eunice, NM.

  • Work Schedule: Professional work schedule with minimal night/weekend support. Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed.

  • Travel Required: 20% of the time or less as required.

  • Security Clearance Requirement: Controlled Access Area (CAA) Access and an L or Q level security clearance is required.

  • Emergency Response Requirements: Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duty may be required; including being on-call (24/7) during your designated team duty week.

Primary Functions

  • Responsible for leading, directing and addressing all regulatory activities for Urenco USA.

  • Leads site management and advises the site on regulatory compliance issues and resolutions.

  • Manages correspondence to regulators to include reports, amendment requests, exemption requests, NOV responses, RAI response, technical letters and regulatory required submittals.

  • Manages the maintenance of the site's Licensing Basis and change authority programs.

  • Provides representation for the site on inspections and regulatory compliance matters.

  • Manages the review and comment to rulemaking activities.

  • Provides team leadership, training, coaching and mentoring.

  • Creates and develops an effective and aligned team and sets challenging goals and expectations for staff.

  • Ensures positive behaviors are exhibited by staff.

  • Develops and manages the Licensing budget.

  • Function as a senior level company representative within industry specific groups such as the Nuclear Energy Institute and the Institute for Nuclear Power Operations.

  • As a collaborative member of the UUSA Site Leadership Team, supports site and corporate strategies and initiatives, models our cultural values, and drives accountability to meet our key results.

  • In the absence of the Compliance manager may serve as Acting Compliance manager.
