Summary of Responsibilities
To ensure the highest fire protection and safety standards in a nuclear facility through expert engineering, analysis, and program management.
Education and Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
-
Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering and 4 or more years as Fire Protection Engineer.
OR
-
Engineering degree and 6 or more years as Fire Protection Engineer or Fire Protection related duties.
OR
15+ years of technical experience, and 2 NFPA or equivalent certifications
- 8+ years of combined experience in fire protection, at least 5 years of fire protection service/experience of on-site experience in a nuclear or highly regulated industry
- Familiarity with 10 CFR 70.72 requirements and implementation in nuclear facility operations
- Experience with fire system impairments, hot work permits, and compensatory measures
- Familiarity with fire protection systems
- Water-based systems:
- Wet pipe sprinkler systems
- Dry pipe sprinkler systems
- Pre-action sprinkler systems
- Deluge systems
- Fire pumps and water storage tanks
- Familiarity with fire protection systems
- Carbon dioxide (CO2) systems
- Clean agent systems (e.g., FM-200, Novec 1230
- Inert gas systems (e.g., Inergen, Argonite)

Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field

Primary Functions
- Full-time position within Engineering Department

- Work Location: Eunice, NM
- Work Schedule: Professional work schedule/ with minimal night/ weekend support. Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed.
- Travel Required: 10% of the time or less as required
- Security Clearance Requirement: CAA Access and an L or Q level security clearance
- Emergency Response Requirements: Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duty will be required; including being on-call (24/7) during your designated team duty week.
